अवैधव्यं च सौभाग्यं देहि त्वं मम सुव्रते ।पुत्रान् पौत्रांश्च सौख्यं च गृहाणार्घ्यं नमोऽस्तुते ॥वट सिंचामि ते मूलं सलिलैरमृतोपमैः ।यथा शाखाप्रशाखाभिर्वृद्धोऽसि त्वं महीतले ।तथा पुत्रैश्च पौत्रैश्च सम्पन्नं कुरु मां सदा ॥
"Avaidhavyaṁ ca saubhāgyaṁ dehi tvaṁ mama suvrate. Putrān pautrānśca saukhyaṁ ca gṛhāṇārghyaṁ namo'stute. Vata siñcāmi te mūlaṁ salilairamṛtopamaiḥ. Yathā śākhāpraśākhābhirvṛddho'si tvaṁ mahītale. Tathā putraiśca pautraiśca sampannaṁ kuru māṁ sadā."
Meaning
Avaidhavya (freedom from widowhood) and good fortune, please grant to me, O virtuous Savitri. Bless me with children, grandchildren, and happiness; accept this water offering (Arghya), salutations to you. I water your roots, O Banyan (Vat) tree, with water like nectar. Just as you grow and expand with branches on this earth, similarly, make me prosperous with children and grandchildren always.
